About Us

I'm just an average person in an average town in an average Midwest state. I'm a journalist, grad student, volunteer and a nine-year survivor of leukemia (yay!). I adopted my daughter, Emmerson, as a newborn in March 2008 through the joy of domestic adoption and through the amazing graciousness and courage of her birthmother.
